Fish Farm
Fish Farm
The Fish Farm project was launched in January of this year(2015) as an Income Generating Activity for the women of WEEP as a source of nutrition and income. We have already constructed the first fishpond and water circulation system. We currently have approximately 1300 Talapia and plan to construct the second pond in May 2015.
LPK plans to sell the fish and invest the money back into the project and use some of the profit to fund the business skills development class of the women in the WEEP program while at the same time providing nutrition to the women through eating fish. We hope to have 20 WEEP participants trained in the care and maintenance of this project.
The fish-farming project is one that is economically sustainable as well as nourishing to the health of the women and their children who are vulnerable to opportunistic infections due to poor diet. Good nutrition and healthy lifestyle will help with their longevity of life and their children.
If you want to donate towards the funding of the chicken project please press the donate button at the top right of the screen and write “The Fish Farm Project” in the description to allow us to know where to allocate the donation.
