Home Based Care
We have a community outreach worker who provides initial home-based care visits, emotional support, health education, and advocacy for the women to access and adhere to treatment.
In addition, we provide a social worker who conducts home bio-psycho-social assessments, discusses the importance of nutrition, hygiene, cleanliness, access to treatment, medication adherence, and health education. If a woman has children, the Social Worker will assess the needs of the children and when applicable, refer them to our OVC services for educational sustainability.
Women who are a part of this project are taught skills such as rabbit keeping, kitchen gardens and chicken rearing to assist in their own sustainability and access to healthy and nutritious foods.
